This black zippered portfolio is designed to be a work horse. It’s made primarily of a sturdy rough fabric. The spine and the edges feel like leather but I can’t verify if that’s true or if this is a plastic-type leather substitute. I was attracted to this as a left-handed person because this states it can be used left and right handed. As near as I can tell, to use left-handed means to slip the included lined tablet out and then reinsert it upside down, turn the portfolio over, and use it that way. This works, but for those with an eye for detail, the top seam ends which does not look as nice as the other (front) side that using it left-handed is now the black side. Right-handed people will not see this as the seams are smooth on the front plus the front outer spine has a cross and alpineswiss embossed on a tab that extends from the spine on the front side towards the bottom. Inside, and I’ll go over this from a right-handed view since this represents most people, the interior left side has a large inner pocket with a divider inside. This pocket basically takes up one side and is held together with a Velcro strap. Below that is another only slightly smaller pocket with no top fastener. On that pocket are holders for items such as a mobile phone or small calculator, 2 business card holders, and a zippered pocket that can hold items such as a few pens or similar sized small objects. The mobile phone or calculator holder is made of a stretchy material. My Android phone fits but I have to tug firmly to pull it out. I haven’t had this long enough to get a sense if this will loosen up a bit over time or not. On the zippered pocket that I think of as holding pens, there are also 2 stretchy looped straps for pens or pencils. The other side of this portfolio has the lined tablet. The zipper has a nice-sized pull and is easy to use. This portfolio comes in a simple cardboard sleeve and arrived in great shape. My rating rating is 4 stars for although this is well-designed, it is not quite the solution for left-handed users that I hoping for. Right-handed users should be well pleased.
