Indigo (blue bird) lost his mate Lemon just under a year ago. She became egg bound despite offering her a nesting box. She never learned to make a nest even though we offered her nesting materials. When we got Jade (green bird) as a mate for Indigo, we wanted to makw sure the same thing did not happen to Jade. We offered a lot of nesting materials and even placed them in the box. Jade, does like to go into the nesting box but she likes to throw the nesting material out of the box.I like this particular nesting material because it’s one big “solid” piece, and she cannot throw it out of the hole in the box. However, it is not so solid that she can’t pick at it and fluff it. Indigo and Jade so seem to like the nesting material and have been sleeping in their box since we’ve been putting it in the box. The price is a good value even if it just came with one piece, but since it comes with several it is even a better value.
